After a successful pitching career at Shaler Area High School, Ryan was picked to participate in the 2004 WPIAL
All-Star Game where he was named the games Most Valuable Pitcher. Ryan then went on to play Division I baseball
at Duquesne University from 2005-2009where he collected a total of 11 career wins while hurling over 215 career
innings, and earning Atlantic 10 Conference Pitcher of the Week honors in March of 2008. Ryan also participated in
elite college summer leagues playing for the League Champion Rockville Express of the Cal Ripken Sr. League, and
also the Hawaii Allii’s of the Hawaii Colegiate Baseball League. Ryan currently serves as the pitching coach for the
Steel City Wildcats of WPEBL, which was created to give top players in Western Pennsylvania a league in which
college and professional scouts can evaluate mutiple players at one time. Ryan has earned a degree in History and is
currently completing his degree in Secondary Education from Duquesne University.
