Keith Meyer graduated from Schenley High School in June 2004 and continued his baseball career at
Duquesne University.
In 2007, Meyer was drafted by the Seattle Mariners in the 15th round of the First-Year Player Draft becoming
only the 7th player drafted from Duquesne University.
Meyer began his pro career with the Everett Aquasox and recorded his first career save on June 24, tossing a
scoreless 9th inning. He struck out a season-high six batters twice, July 1 vs. Eugene and Sept. 2 vs. Vancouver.
He tossed 11.0 scoreless innings, allowing four hits while striking out 16, on Aug. 18 and earned his first career
win on September 2, tossing 3.0 shutout innings with five strikeouts. On Aug. 28 vs. Eugene Meyer made his
only start of the season (5.0, 2 H, BB, 6 K). Meyer was nominated for the Northwest League Pitcher of the Week
and was also invited to participate in the Mariners 2007 Arizona Instructional League.
The following season Meyer spent his time with the Wisconsin Timberrattlers and tossed a season-high 11.0
scoreless innings, April 23 and earned the win, Aug. 28 vs. Cedar Rapids (6.0,3,0,0,2,3). Meyer struck out a
season-high 6 batters in 5.0 innings, Aug. 23 vs. Quad Cities.
In 2009, Meyer began his season with the Clinton Lumberjacks followed by the Lansing Lugnuts, the minor league team of the
Toronto Blue Jays. Meyer finished his 2009 season with the local Washington Wildthings with 19 innings pitched, a 4.7 ERA and 17
strikeouts.
